As the weekend approached, the confrontation between the two party camps was heard very clearly: in the camp of politicians closer to M. Sinkevičius, criticism was already boldly voiced not only against the “aušriečiai” but also against their faction colleagues who were still defending them.
They claim that being with “Nemuno aušra” continues to harm the reputation and ratings of the Social Democrats themselves, experience has shown that they cannot be relied upon to make important state decisions, and some statements by its leader Remigijus Žemaitaitis, for example, about an impending coup in the state, were even suggested to be evaluated not through a political, but a psychiatric prism.
R. Žemaitaitis’ separate foreign policy line and his court case regarding anti-Jewish statements were also reminded once again.
Another wing of the Social Democrats, led by Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas and faction elder Orinta Leiputė, downplays these problems and emphasizes the aspect of coalition and government stability.

According to 15min sources within the party, M. Sinkevičius himself did not elaborate on his vision during the LSDP faction meeting on Tuesday.
However, he dropped a significant hint: numbers are important, but trust is more important.
There are those who believe that there could be more changes, and they would include the positions of Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė and Juozas Olekas.
