These changes were initiated by the Minister of Interior Vladislavas Kondratovičius.
“We aim to create the most favorable conditions for the accessibility of shelters and to ensure the safety of residents in case of an air threat. Municipal administrations, using the funding allocated for ongoing shelter renovation projects, will have the opportunity to install remotely controlled door locks in shelters and implement other measures that would facilitate residents’ access to shelters,” the minister is quoted in the statement.
