Writer Dalia Staponkutė, living in Cyprus, reacted even more harshly – according to her, Lithuanians buying homes in Northern Cyprus show a lack of conscience.
„Valinskas easily retold the history of Cyprus, even joking about a blood-soaked sea. He probably didn’t even consider that his words could be heard by a refugee child, a widow, or a Cypriot who understands Lithuanian“, – she wrote in a comment published by LRT.

Critics were particularly annoyed by the “white party” held in Cyprus with a group of Lithuanian celebrities, which the Valinskas family also attended.
