In both the first (51:33) and second (45:27) games, Pablo Laso’s team had a huge lead, but Šaras’ men came back both times and celebrated narrow victories (60:59 and 73:72 respectively).
Š.Jasikevičius, who walked on a knife’s edge both times, explained such game scenarios.
“We are missing some players due to injuries, so we have to include new players in the rotation. Because of that, our key players naturally lose their rhythm,” explained the Fenerbahçe coach.
“The same scenario repeated in both the first and second games. When we narrowed the rotation, we turned the game upside down. Honestly, we have been going through this all season.”
“I especially highlight our veterans and the team’s character, which helped win this battle,” added Š.Jasikevičius.

“On Friday, we will already play at the Anadolu Efes arena. We know they play better on their home court. The opponents fight like champions, but we first have to look at ourselves and show our basketball,” concluded the Lithuanian.
“We feel really bad. We lost both games by just one point, and when that happens, naturally, you start thinking about every mistake you made,” said P.Laso.
“We could have won if we had played one more episode correctly. On the other hand, the fact that we controlled both games is a certain positive. Still, we failed to turn that into wins, and that is bad.
We knew how hard it is to win at Fenerbahçe’s home arena. We have to recover as soon as possible because we will play the next game in less than 48 hours.”
