Shock in Trakai: grandmother's funeral had to be postponed because no one issued a death certificate

The emotional story of a family from Rūdiškės was shared by the satirical hero of the Trakai district, Šimas Burbulis. He does not shy away from sharp criticism of the Trakai district municipality and its mayor.

“The grave is dug, relatives wipe away tears, the priest is waiting, but the deceased cannot be buried. There is no document. This phantasmagoric story is from the series ‘living in Trakai is good,’ where you cannot even get sick because there is no one to treat you. Here, you cannot even die peacefully because after death, your relatives may still have to prove that you really died,” the hero signing as Burbulis ironically presented the situation.

“So when will we be able to bury?”

However, this story is exceptional; it was told by the members of a family living in Rūdiškės themselves, for whom the funeral, a difficult emotional trial for all, added such worries that no one expected.

An elderly woman died on Friday, September 4, in the afternoon. According to relatives, the ambulance confirmed the fact of death, there is a document confirming it, and there seem to be no uncertainties about the cause of death.

Only no one is available to issue the death certificate because the working hours at the medical institution simply ended on Friday.
