„We have been working in Vilnius for many years, so we view the contract extension with the Vilnius City Municipality both as recognition of our team’s work and as a responsibility to continue ensuring quality and reliable service for passengers. This is especially important considering the growth of public transport in Vilnius itself – last year, more than 221 million trips were made in the capital,” says Robertas Gražys, head of the company Busgroup.lt, which manages the company Transrevis.

The contract for services provided by medium-capacity “Midi” buses has been extended until April 30, 2029, and for longer 18-meter buses – until July 31, 2029. From this October, some of the routes served by Transrevis will also change. The company will take over route 119 “Šiaurės miestelis–Antakalnis–Rokantiškės–Egliškės,” while route 15 “Žolyno g.–Antakalnis–Turniškės” will be transferred to another company.
According to R. Gražys, although the total number of routes will remain the same due to this exchange, the scope of Transrevis’s operations will increase – the actual mileage will grow by about 23,000 km per month, or about 276,000 km per year.
“The capacity of the buses on route 119 no longer meets demand, so Transrevis will serve it with higher-capacity buses. This is a good example of how public transport must adapt to the real needs of the city and passengers – transport capacity must be where it is most needed,” he adds.
Despite employee availability remaining one of the biggest challenges in the passenger transport sector, the company is fully prepared for the growth in operational scope – five vehicles are planned for the new route, and the driver team was formed in advance.
New services have already been appreciated by customers
Transrevis also welcomed a new direction this autumn – a contract was signed for transporting children of the Vilnius Duke Gediminas Progymnasium. According to R. Gražys, this reflects steady growth not only in regular city transport but also in other passenger transport areas.
“Student transportation is one of the areas where we can use our existing competencies: transport management, route planning, driver organization, technical maintenance, and safety processes, while adapting to specific safety and organizational requirements,” notes the company’s head.

The newly organized student transportation service has already been appreciated by the students themselves and their parents. The experience of the first days of the school year showed that the special transport greatly eased the daily routine of families – it is more convenient and safer for students to reach the temporary learning location on Žvejų St. in the capital, and parents no longer need to worry about additional transportation for their children.
According to R. Gražys, the range of other services is also expanding in parallel – bus rental with a driver has been offered to companies, organizations, and private clients for employee and group transportation, events, trips, or other journeys.
“We also provide businesses with the opportunity to rent advertising space on the rear part of our buses. Buses running daily through the streets allow us to offer this advertising channel to companies that want to be visible in the city,” he adds.
Vilnius remains one of the most important markets for Transrevis, but the company’s expansion plans are not limited to the capital. The company regularly participates in public transport tenders throughout Lithuania and Latvia, and today it already operates in the Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, and Prienai districts, and is also aiming for victory in the announced public transport tender in Alytus city.
