“The ambassadors met this morning at the COREPER meeting and did not reach an agreement on the extension of sanctions. It was agreed that discussions will continue on Monday,” said one of the “European Pravda” sources.

The sanctions will cease to apply at midnight on Tuesday, September 22.
The EU sanctions regime against Russia for violations of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty applies to nearly 3,000 natural and legal persons considered responsible for Russia’s war against Ukraine, including Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
