G.Nausėda after the State Defense Council (VGT) meeting confirmed that the “Gerbera” shot down in Lithuania during the night from Sunday to Monday was intended to attack Ukraine but deviated from its course.
The president also stated that “most likely this was not a deliberate action against Lithuania.”
However, E.Mažeikis says that neither the possibility that the drone was disoriented nor the version that it was a deliberate provocation by Russia can be ruled out.

“The question, of course, is complicated, I, like the president, do not have a crystal ball – he at least has special services, I have no one to ask. But my understanding of radio-electronic warfare against drones deviated from their course is based more on professional experience,” said E.Mažeikis.
He also explained why, even after shooting down the drone with a fighter jet, explosives believed to have been transported by it were later found on the ground and neutralized on Tuesday by “Aro” officers.
