The organizers said the gold bar can be found after any clue, and additional clues will be released throughout the summer, gradually making it easier to determine the gold’s location.
The final clue will be revealed on August 22.
The village of Levi, located beyond the Arctic Circle, is best known as one of Finland’s main skiing destinations and a popular winter spot.
During the summer months, the region experiences white nights, so at certain times in Lapland, the sun shines 24 hours a day.
Participants wishing to join are encouraged to travel responsibly, not to cross permitted areas, and to protect the natural environment. The hunt does not require digging or otherwise disturbing the area, the organizers said.
