The head of diplomacy also discussed this issue with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha at the informal EU Council meeting held in Cyprus on May 28.

It is noted that the drone was discovered on May 7 by fishermen on the island of Lefkada in the Ionian Sea and handed over to the military.

It is believed that this episode is related to a series of maritime drone attacks that Ukraine is suspected of carrying out in recent months against ships involved in Russia’s attempts to transport oil.

What is expected from Ukraine

Greek authorities seek an official explanation and apology from Ukraine regarding the incident involving the unmanned military device. It is claimed that the unmanned aerial vehicle was identified as Ukraine’s maritime drone “Magura V3”.

The Greeks also want Kyiv to provide guarantees to prevent similar incidents in the future.
