FNTT officers are conducting searches at NMA on Tuesday. According to FNTT, the service and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office’s investigative actions at the agency are related to suspected abuse of official position to provide unlawful advantages to persons participating in European Union projects.

15min reports that the deputy director of NMA, Tomas Orlickas, has come under law enforcement scrutiny. He has been suspended from his duties at NMA since early August while another internal investigation is being conducted regarding possible conflicts of interest.
Minister: “We are waiting for the director’s explanations”
“I view it negatively, as such events only undermine trust in the institution,” K. Mažeika told 15min when asked to comment on the searches at NMA on Tuesday.
He stated that he does not have confirmed information that the searches are related to conflicts of interest involving the NMA deputy.

“Knowing that it is the direct responsibility of the director to ensure the effectiveness of the anti-corruption system, we are waiting for the director’s explanations, the FNTT investigation, and will make decisions,” K. Mažeika told 15min.
Since November 2023, Fortunatas Dirginčius has been serving as the general director of NMA, which administers support for agriculture, rural development, and fisheries.
