It is indicated that mandatory assignments should begin in the fall and may include up to 1,000 soldiers, i.e., about 20 percent of the entire brigade. However, it is hoped to reduce this share to at least 10 percent.
By the end of 2027, it is planned to deploy up to 4,800 German soldiers in Lithuania. However, the volunteer recruitment process is progressing slowly. According to August data, the brigade was only about 60 percent filled.
According to Bild, B. Pistorius long believed that there would be no need to send soldiers to this region by mandatory order. However, in June, he openly admitted that it would probably not be possible to meet the needs with volunteers alone.
