Suspecting that T. Orlickas might have confused interests while implementing international projects, the agency suspended him on July 15, and on July 16 the information was passed to the Chief Official Ethics Commission (VTEK) and the Special Investigation Service (STT).
On July 29, after VTEK announced its refusal to conduct an investigation, the agency initiated an internal investigation on August 5 regarding possible conflicts of public and private interests.
As BNS stated, NMA director’s senior advisor Vaiva Kovaliūnienė said that the information was planned to be presented to the public after the investigation was completed and final conclusions were obtained.

“The investigation into the possible conflict of public and private interests is still ongoing. Until the investigation is completed, its details, which constitute the scope of the investigation, are not to be disclosed,” V. Kovaliūnienė said in a comment to BNS.
T. Orlickas has been working at the agency since 2008, and as deputy director since 2014, according to his LinkedIn profile.
