Good news was shared by A. Užkalnis on the social network “Instagram”. He agreed to share the post with the news portal Žmonės.lt.
In the photo, he also showed an exceptional engagement ring.
“She said yes,” A. Užkalnis briefly wrote.
To the news portal Žmonės.lt, A. Užkalnis revealed that the decisive question was asked in an unexpected but very dear place to both of their hearts.
“I didn’t even kneel. I was sitting. In Vilnius, near Monika’s house, in a car that means a lot to us. We spend a lot of time there visiting each other,” he told Žmonės.lt.
When asked if they are already planning the wedding, Andrius smiled and added: “Yes, but so far we know as much about the date and place as you do.”

Andrius’s beloved Monika Žilinskaitė is the sister of the late journalist Rokas Žilinskas. As A. Užkalnis told the portal Žmonės.lt, they met when Monika was preparing a book about her deceased brother and asked Andrius to share memories about their friendship.
“We have known each other for quite a long time because Monika published a book about her brother Rokas Žilinskas. That book was published a few years ago, after Rokas’s death. Monika then reached out to people who knew him. I wrote a small chapter in that book because I had to work with Rokas at LRT. Rokas was an intern at the time, studying journalism, we communicated. I was only a few years older than him. I just wrote a few words about Rokas, who was very likable and friendly to me,” A. Užkalnis told Žmonės.lt.
He said that at that time communication with Monika was limited to that because the writer was in another relationship and had other commitments.
“I was in another relationship, had other commitments, and that, of course, set certain boundaries – after all, at one time you are with one partner. Later, when we were both free from other commitments, the moment came when our relationship could move to a new stage,” said A. Užkalnis.
