„We are talking with the health insurance funds to ensure that maternity wards receive basic funding alongside the contractual funding for the services provided. Because currently, the funding for all maternity wards depends on how many births and what types of births have occurred, how many have been provided to the mothers. Basic funding would be differentiated according to levels. (…) This would allow many maternity wards, and thus hospitals, to breathe easier and provide the necessary services,“ the minister told journalists in the Seimas on Thursday.
