Alytus Business Forum promises surprises: there will be things that have not yet been publicly discussed

“This year, the forum will feature things that we cannot yet reveal today. Some facts about Alytus, the city’s changes, and future plans will be publicly announced for the first time precisely on the forum stage. Evolution will be not only heard but also seen – the forum space will host demonstrations of advanced technologies and innovations that, I believe, will surprise many. We want people to leave the forum not only with new ideas and contacts but also having seen with their own eyes how rapidly Alytus is changing, growing, and evolving,” says Nerijus Cesiulis, Mayor of Alytus City Municipality.

The forum where evolution is visible to the naked eye

This year’s forum theme is “Evolution,” so the location was chosen intentionally. The event will take place in the new, not yet operational 7,500 sq. m UAB “Aradas” factory, into which about 6 million euros are being invested. This continues the tradition of the Alytus Business Forum to meet each year in a different space reflecting the city’s growth and changes.

On the way to UAB “Aradas,” you will be able to see with your own eyes how this part of the city is changing – where there were empty plots not long ago, new buildings are rising today, million-euro investments are coming, and new jobs are being created.

Nerijus Cesiulis, Mayor of Alytus City Municipality, will present the evolution of Alytus itself on the forum stage – how the city has changed, what investments are fostering its growth today, and where Alytus is heading next.

On stage – economy, artificial intelligence, and the future of the labor market

Where is the economy heading? How is artificial intelligence changing business? What is happening in the labor market, and how do regions differ from the capital? Professionals in their fields will seek answers to these questions at the forum.

Economist Nerijus Mačiulis will review the economic situation and key trends, technology entrepreneur Ilja Laurs will talk about the impact of artificial intelligence on business and the opportunities it opens, and labor market expert Andrius Francas will discuss the changing labor market in the capital and regions.

Mindaugas Neverdauskas, CEO of “Alytaus šilumos tinklai,” will speak about how technologies are changing even traditionally considered sectors, presenting the topic “From pipelines to artificial intelligence: the transformation of the heat sector.”

Not just presentations – there will be things to see up close

The forum’s action will not be limited to the stage. Company booths will be set up in the event space, advanced technology demonstrations will take place, and participants will be able to view an exhibition of products made in Alytus. So, between presentations, it will be possible not only to network but also to get acquainted up close with innovations, businesses, and what is being created in Alytus.

There will be no shortage of impressions – this year, evolution can be not only heard but also seen.

After presentations – conversations

And after the presentations – conversations where things that we won’t see on slides may be revealed. Communication expert and Alytus city ambassador Laura Dabulytė will invite forum speakers on stage one by one and interview them about the most relevant issues.

One of the most anticipated is a conversation with DEMZ representatives about defense industry plans in Alytus. This topic has attracted considerable community attention and questions in the city, so the forum will be an opportunity to hear firsthand more about the planned activities, investments, and defense industry prospects in Alytus.

Laura Dabulytė will talk with Dalius Misiūnas about regional talents – why we nurture them but do not always retain them, and what regions can do so that promising people see their future not only in big cities.

Povilas Klusaitis, head of “Fantazijos.lt” and Alytus city ambassador, will speak in his presentation about the evolution of communication and how ways to reach and engage audiences are changing.
