It was directed by Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize winner Macon Blair, and the main roles were played by Dave Franco (“Neighbors,” “Now You See Me”), rapper Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. (“Straight Outta Compton”), and Mason Thames (“The Black Phone”) alongside Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”).

The project began development back in 2013 and originally had a much more vulgar title – “The Shitheads.” Other actors, producers, and distributors were selected, but the creators were never satisfied with the result. Finally, in 2025, the current team was formed.
“As far as I know, people were waiting for someone to come and tell us straight to our face that this film has no prospects. Then you just do everything so that skeptics drop their jaws,” joked D. Franco before the premiere.
The famous actor claims he will remember this role for the rest of his life – saying he has never done anything like this in front of the cameras before.
“I can’t reveal details now because I want every viewer to see it with their own eyes, but believe me, I have never filmed or seen anything like these vulgar scenes in other movies,” the star teased.

In the dark comedy “Idiots,” Mark and Davis are two down-and-out losers desperately in need of money. For this reason, the offer to drive the rich parents’ son Sheridan to a rehabilitation clinic sounds like the easiest job in the world. You pick up the passenger, deliver him to the place, and get paid. What could go wrong?
It turns out – absolutely everything. Sheridan has no intention of sitting quietly in the back of the car. A clever, spoiled, and completely uncontrollable teenager quickly disrupts all the drivers’ plans, and a simple trip turns into a wild adventure full of drugs, criminals, dangerous deals, and one idiotic decision after another.
The more the trio tries to get out of trouble, the deeper they sink into it. Now the trip’s goal is no longer the rehabilitation clinic – the main thing is to survive, avoid prison, and somehow not kill each other.
The film “Idiots,” full of strong nerves and boundary-pushing humor, will be on our country’s cinema screens from this Friday, September 11.
