The continuous long rail technology ensures the stability of the railway track, the durability of the structure, and reliable operation. This is especially important for the Rail Baltica line, which is designed for passenger trains at speeds up to 249 km/h. A well-constructed track structure is one of the most important conditions for safe and comfortable traffic in the future.
To ensure the highest quality of work, each rail joint is inspected and evaluated independently. Engineering and technical supervision assesses the compliance of the completed works with technical requirements and the high standards set for the high-speed railway.
The construction works of the upper track structure are carried out by the joint venture partners Leonhard Weiss International (Germany) and Leonhard Weiss OÜ (Estonia). The Rail Baltica switch systems for this section are currently manufactured by the company voestalpine Railway Systems Lietuva.

Meanwhile, construction and design works are underway on other Rail Baltica sections in Lithuania, including the modernization of the Poland/Lithuania state border–Kaunas section, the signaling subsystem of this section, as well as design works and tenders for individual point objects for future activities.
Lithuania has secured funding for the construction of 114 km of the main line and is seeking additional funding in the upcoming European Union financial period. Construction progress is one of the most important factors ensuring the further development of the project.
Rail Baltica is a strategic project of the LTG group and the European Union, and the largest railway infrastructure project in the history of the Baltic states, which will establish an electrified European standard railway connecting Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia with Central and Western Europe, ensuring regional integration, civil and military mobility, and the resilience of the transport system.
