As reported by gazeta.pl, the investigators had no doubt about the cause of the accident.
The investigation was led by the Otwock district prosecutor’s office. Last year, at the end of June, the investigation was temporarily suspended, awaiting the conclusions of forensic medicine and road traffic experts.
According to gazeta.pl, it turned out that at the end of August this year, more than a year after the traffic accident, the prosecutor’s office discontinued the investigation. This decision was made based on the Criminal Code provision that the investigation cannot continue if the person responsible for the incident is deceased.
Prosecutor’s office representatives confirmed that the investigation was discontinued after concluding that the driver’s behavior was the sole cause of the accident.
“The car was traveling at a much higher speed than allowed in this area, i.e., 90 km/h,” the prosecutor’s office representative is quoted by gazeta.pl.
Two men, traveling in a “Jaguar XJS V12” car, died early in the morning on May 1, 2025, around 6 a.m. As rescuers reported at the time, in the Tabor area, the car went into a ditch for unclear reasons and crashed into a tree.

It turned out that the impact was so strong that a 40-year-old Pole and the 43-year-old Norwegian millionaire Hakon Wigner Lindal Olaisen, who was driving the Jaguar, died at the scene.
He was the son of Steinar Olaisen (who died in 2011), co-founder of the company “Nova Sea,” which breeds, processes, and sells salmon. This company is one of the largest producers of farmed salmon in Norway. The man who died in Poland was a co-owner of a company that holds a large share of “Nova Sea” stock, together with his sisters.
H.V.L. Olaisen ranked 305th on the list of the richest people in Norway in 2024, a list that also included his two sisters. According to Norwegian media, the family’s joint wealth was then about 1.5 billion Norwegian kroner (close to 14 million euros at the current exchange rate).
Last January, the Olaisen family sold their shares to the company “Mowi,” with the deal reportedly worth 625 million euros. The total market value of “Nova Sea” is stated as 1.36 billion euros.
