She shared painful memories and said that during the scandal she went through a difficult phase and suffered from cancer.
“That event coincided with my cancer. Immediately after that event there was the hospital, surgery… I just had to survive. And that survival overshadowed that shame <…> But, of course, I will feel shame for it all my life. I didn’t steal anything, didn’t profit from anyone, but there was shame. If I weren’t a well-known person, that shame might have been less,” R. Jokubauskaitė reflected on the show “Pas Nemirą”.

At that time, after the scandal, the well-known woman built a wall of silence, but after five months she returned to TV airwaves.
“I am glad that people were understanding, forgiving, and that I still have a job,” said the TV show host.
Asked why she decided to drive while intoxicated at that time, R. Jokubauskaitė said she was going through a chaotic period not only because of the illness but also due to toxic relationships.
“At that time I was living in toxic relationships. There were divorces, then I changed my lifestyle, I live alone and everything resolved completely differently. I got over all that and continue living, but the thoughts about that shame, about that downfall, don’t let go… Yes, shame, although no one points fingers and few remind me,” the well-known woman revealed on the show “Pas Nemirą”.

The TV show host revealed that the relationship was difficult because her husband was a narcissist.
“The man was of such a narcissistic type, belittling, one of those men who somehow know how to crush strongly. And I, being so susceptible to influence, was like that and passively smoking, because the man smoked a lot, and drinking to make it easier… When relationships are toxic, you lose yourself and feel worthless,” the well-known woman recalled the painful relationship.
Still, R. Jokubauskaitė was always supported by her daughter, who cared for her both during the scandal and now.
“My daughter saved me, helped a lot, cared, really didn’t leave me, and now she cares a lot, worries a lot, if I get a little sick, she calls all the time,” R. Jokubauskaitė said on the show “Pas Nemirą”.
