Carsen Edwards, Deividas Sirvydis, and Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu were not registered for the Sunday meeting, so the latter visited the “Žalgiris Insider” studio before the game, where sports commentator and “Žalgiris TV” show host Rytis Kazlauskas interviewed the Žalgiris player about his first weeks in Kaunas, integration into the team, and the chemistry between players.

“These past few weeks have been truly incredible. I have been trying to reach this level for a long time, so so far the experience is great. The team is also bonding well so far, we push each other forward. The coaching staff and all the personnel also encourage me to improve every day both in the gym and on the court to achieve what they expect from me. So far, I am really enjoying this experience,” said K. Akobundu-Ehiogu.
The tall player talked about the atmosphere in the team locker room and the joy of playing on the same team with Jonas Valančiūnas and Sterling Brown, as he has known the latter for many years.
K. Akobundu-Ehiogu also shared his first impressions of playing at a higher level.
“I definitely felt the difference – the first thing that stood out was the entire arena and training facilities. Everything is top-notch – the training room is right next to the locker room, and the gym as well. The coaching staff and management are also very professional and take care of everyone. This really left me with an impression of a higher level. Of course, the players are also very high-level, so I am learning from them,” the tall player emphasized.

K. Akobundu-Ehiogu also spoke about the team coach Tomas Masiulis.
“So far, the experience with him has been great. He clearly expresses what he wants. He is not a coach who constantly yells at you, but he knows how to get the best versions out of the players,” added the Žalgiris player.
