That evening, not only before the event but also after the crowd’s roar in the arena had calmed down, the emotions of the audience, performers, and M1 music awards hosts were still running high for a long time. News portals were flashing messages about the winners, outstanding performances by the most famous artists, the brightest VIP guest looks… A huge team of professionals prepared for this event for many months, and intensive work was going on in and around the arena for three days before the awards themselves.

Dressing rooms turned into wardrobes, makeup rooms, rehearsal spaces for the stylist team, and the corridor was flooded with excitement. On the huge stage, which took several days to build, rehearsals took place from early morning until late at night, and several tons of sound and video equipment were brought into the arena. In total, about 250 people worked backstage, and about 150 professionals in their fields appeared on stage, including dancers, performers, and musicians.
“There was everything backstage. Even panic when, just before the event, one of the thirteen awards – a white gold chain with a diamond-encrusted pendant – suddenly went missing. Everything stopped. We interrupted the rehearsal, confusion arose because no one, except a few people, knew or understood what was happening. Only later, after seriously investigating the situation, it turned out that the chain had already safely traveled to Vilnius M.K. Čiurlionis Airport, where it became an exhibit – the award for M.K. Čiurlionis was given in the radio station M1’s nomination ‘For Sound in the World.’ We simply miscommunicated among ourselves,” the organizers recall.
The radio show hosts who announced the best of the year during the ceremony, just after stepping down from the stage, shared their impressions and were happy to be part of this impressive music celebration.
“I am incredibly happy. For me, the M1 music awards were something wow, I believe the audience liked it too because I personally put a lot of effort into it. And thanks to my colleague Skaiva for not kicking me off the stage. The awards are fantastic,” said Ričardas Mikavičius.
“The awards just ended, and I still don’t understand what happened. An unreal event, so many impressions. When I get home, I will rewind the LNK broadcast and watch it again. It was fantastic. The first attempt was not just not burnt but perfectly cooked,” shared Saulius Žvirgždas.
“I am shocked, I hope you liked it too,” Paulius Vaitiekūnas struggled to find words.
During the event, there was a lot going on, vividly – we found out who became the best of the year in the music world, about 600 VIP guests dressed in the “Creative glam” dress code walked the Blue Carpet, the audience was amazed by unexpected collaborations of the most famous groups and performers, iconic radio duets “Between Our Girls” and Tomazas and Marazas were revived, laughter echoed, witty conversations…
