The Izmail district administration reported that the “Orlivka” crossing was hit by Russian “Shahed” type drones. According to local authorities, the attack forced a temporary suspension of checks on people and vehicles.
Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, stated that casualties were avoided. According to him, by the morning of September 6, the border checkpoint’s operations had already been restored.
This crossing was previously attacked on September 1, when Russian “Shahed” type drones struck the building and other infrastructure, causing fires and temporarily halting operations. According to Romanian customs services, operations resumed after two days, on September 3, after infrastructure was repaired and the ferry line was inspected.
