She claimed that she received many messages with questions about why she decided to study and letters with women’s confessions that more than one had made exactly the same decision.
The TV show host decided to reveal how she became a student at the Faculty of Animal Science at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
She agreed to share the post also with the readers of the portal Žmonės.lt .
“Finally, I have time to sit down and answer the many questions! To be honest, besides ‘Are you crazy?’, I received a sea of congratulations and support. I am most glad that there are actually quite a few mature students.
Thank you for sharing your experience of what it means to study again when you have a family, a job, and you are not 18!
I am especially very happy for those who were not afraid to start everything from scratch and radically change their lives – from law to social work, from economics to medicine! Hallelujah, girls, the show must go on!”, – wrote R. Mikelkevičiūtė.
She also revealed the reasons why she decided to study.
“– Out of curiosity, boredom, and a desire for a challenge.
“Is this really all I can do in this life?” If so, that is very sad. I am too young for such an answer and to give up finding out!
Do you remember when you were 18 and you had no idea where life would really take you? Who you would be after your studies? Why not try again? That uncertainty attracts me.
– Out of a search for meaning.
I ask myself, what is the meaning of what I do? Such a question is often asked by a person of mature age because there is less and less time HERE. I want to dedicate it not just to anything, but to what makes me happy, inspires me, and gives meaning.

– I deserve luxury!
Can there be a greater luxury than studying what you really want? Not what your parents told you, not for a diploma, not because it is necessary, but because I NEED it.
– Why the Veterinary Academy, Faculty of Animal Science, Human and Animal Interaction?
Love for animals and love for people brought me here. My grandparents’ home always had rescued four-legged friends, and you could always find me in their pen grunting with piglets. People and animals have evolutionarily influenced each other. In my opinion, we have taken and are taking unforgivably more – from food to treatments for serious diseases or rehabilitations where we use animals.
– Am I afraid? YES. But not of exams. I worry whether I will be able to fit one more thing between many jobs and family. Whether my brain, used to the pace and tension of television, will accept that now I will have to read completely different literature and take exams.
– What else to do if not study?
When I was very young, I thought I knew and understood everything. Now I understand that I know nothing and I know that I no longer understand anything! I am fixing the situation.
– Finally, studies are a great way to train the brain and run away from Alzheimer’s and dementia,” – R. Mikelkevičiūtė wrote cheerfully.
