The ads, which almost literally and in design replicate each other, seek people of any nationality, including “over 45 years old” and pensioners, “with health problems” (fitness categories from “A” to “G,” i.e., up to “temporarily unfit”), without experience and military service, but with expired criminal records or suspended sentences, writes “The Moscow Times.”

They are offered to become “rear security warehouse” guards in Belarus or “ammunition production” workers in China. Additionally, in these countries, Russians are planned to be employed as “security guards” at drone factories, electronic warfare facilities, and training grounds, “Kamaz” drivers, operators at drone factories, drone assemblers, technicians, and testers.

The salary for such “work” is indicated from 230 thousand rubles (2.7 thousand euros) to 260 thousand rubles (3 thousand) per month. It is also offered to receive 10 million rubles of unclear origin in cash benefits, debt write-offs up to 10 million rubles, and family benefits.

Earlier, Janis Kluge, an expert at the German Institute for International Security Affairs, based on Russian regional budget data, calculated that by the end of the first quarter of 2026, 70.5 thousand Russians had joined the Russian army as contract soldiers and volunteers.

The average daily recruitment rate has decreased to 800 per day – the lowest since the first quarter of 2024. Compared to January-March last year, this number has decreased by 20%, and compared to the last months of last year – by more than 40%.

Mobilization may be needed

The gradual exhaustion of mechanisms to attract people to the war for money means that the Kremlin may be preparing the public for a new “partial mobilization,” experts from the US-based Institute for the Study of War wrote in February.

A message was posted in early June on the Telegram channel of State Duma deputy and former member of the Defense and Security Committee Andrey Gurulyov, stating that a new mobilization may be announced in Russia in the fall due to the difficult situation on the Ukrainian front and heavy losses. Later, A. Gurulyov claimed that “enemies” had hacked his account and staged a “provocation.”
