Several homemade explosives were found around 8 a.m. (9 a.m. Lithuanian time) at the Preilaka substation, which distributes electricity from the nearby Jenšvald power plant, a police press officer told the AFP news agency.

According to her, at least one device detonated, others did not go off. The officer added that no one was injured, and there were no major power supply disruptions in the area, located about 100 km southeast of Berlin.
The power plant operator LEAG stated in a report that an “attack was carried out” at the substation.
It also reported a “technical failure” of the power plant block and added that a possible connection to this incident is being investigated.
The grid operator “50Hertz” said that unidentified attackers damaged several of its network lines.
“The supply was briefly interrupted. Now all lines are operational again. Currently, this does not affect the overall electricity supply,” the statement said.
The police press officer said an investigation has been launched to determine who is behind this incident.
