According to the police, preliminary data shows that a truck crashed into the rear of a maintenance service vehicle on the A1 highway, near the village of Mykanów.

“Four people died at the scene of this accident, and the remaining four were taken to the hospital, their condition is serious,” said Barbara Poznanska, deputy commissioner of the Częstochowa city police chief’s office, as quoted by “TVP World”.
Investigators are collecting evidence and clarifying the causes of the tragic accident, which remain unknown for now.
Checked with a breathalyzer
The police stated that after checking the truck driver with a breathalyzer, no alcohol was found in his system, but a blood sample was taken for additional tests.
“The truck driver did not require medical assistance. He has been detained,” added B. Poznanska.
Officials reported that the section of the A1 highway between the Radomsko and Mykanów junctions in the direction of Gorzyczki was completely blocked. The police are redirecting traffic via detours through the Radomsko junction.
B. Poznanska urged drivers to be extremely cautious and follow the officers’ instructions, warning that traffic disruptions may continue for several more hours.
