„Every day the number (without electricity – BNS) is steadily decreasing. Currently, power has been restored to more than 90% of our (ESO – BNS) customers. According to morning data, about 24 thousand still do not have electricity, slightly fewer customers now,“ Rasa Juodkienė told BNS.

According to her, on Saturday, by the decision of the emergency situation operations manager, the state reserve was opened, and the need for generators in municipalities is being collected.
„Part of this (need – BNS) has already been collected from the municipalities most affected by the storm, and where possible, additional generators will be connected,“ said the company representative.
According to ESO, in those areas where there are the most network damages and repair work will take longer than planned, generators are operating – there are currently more than 300 of them in different parts of the country.
According to R. Juodkienė, the most difficult disruptions currently remain in the Utena, Kaunas, and Panevėžys counties: „The situation has not changed. Just as it was, it remains (the most difficult regions – BNS).“
As ESO announces, all disruptions are planned to be eliminated by September 3.
According to Sunday morning data, power has been fully restored in Akmenė, Druskininkai, Kaunas, Klaipėda city and district, Kretinga, Mažeikiai, Neringa, Pagėgiai, Palanga, Plungė, Rietavas, Skuodas, Šalčininkai, Šiauliai city and district, Šilutė, Telšiai, Varėna, and Vilnius city.
As BNS wrote, during the storm that raged over the weekend, one person died, four others were injured, and electricity supply was disrupted for more than 268 thousand users.
ESO will compensate residents for losses if power restoration takes longer than 72 hours, and will also additionally compensate direct storm damages to both business and private customers.
Meanwhile, by the decision of the emergency situation operations manager, the state reserve was opened – more generators will be provided to people left without electricity. According to ESO, information is being collected from the country’s municipalities about the additional need for generators besides the 300 already delivered to the most affected areas.
Due to the storm and significant losses to farmers, the government declared a state-level emergency on Wednesday.
