This is said to be a retaliatory action against Kyiv’s strikes.
“Russian forces have begun preparing for massive strikes against Ukraine’s energy sector facilities in response to ongoing Kyiv regime attacks on civilian infrastructure and Russia’s oil and energy complex,” the Telegram message states.

Last winter, Moscow repeatedly attacked Ukrainian power plants, causing significant damage to the country’s energy sector. As a result, millions of people were left without heat and light when temperatures dropped below zero.
Both sides have been intensifying long-range strikes for several months. Targets include infrastructure such as warehouses, business facilities, oil and port installations, as well as ships, increasing civilian casualties.
On Sunday, the Russian military claimed to have struck an asbestos and cement factory operating in Kyiv, whose warehouses, according to them, stored explosives, as well as a drone and ammunition manufacturer.

On Saturday, a Russian strike on an ammunition depot in a suburb of the Ukrainian capital caused a powerful explosion that killed at least 37 people.
In turn, Ukraine attacked an oil refinery in northwest Russia with drones. According to local officials, a fire broke out there.
