According to the Osh Regional Internal Affairs Department, the deceased are 43-year-old Belarusian citizen Maksim Polianski and 37-year-old Lithuanian citizen Sergejus Rubcovas.

It is reported that the bodies of the deceased are in the Osh morgue. They are planned to be sent home.
The third group member – 60-year-old Belarusian citizen Nikolai Sviridov – has not yet been found.
We remind that Belarusian citizens Maksim Polianski (43), Nikolai Sviridov (60), and Lithuanian citizen Sergejus Rubcovas (37) successfully climbed the Kurumdy summit on August 2. On August 4, the group was supposed to start descending to the base camp, but it was not possible to contact them at the agreed time.
Employees and volunteers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations started a search operation. However, due to poor weather conditions, the search was complicated and valuable time was lost.

The Kurumdy summit is located at the border of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and China. The mountain massif is characterized by narrow ridges, sharp rocky peaks, and glaciers descending steeply.
Until 2001, expeditions from various countries repeatedly tried to climb this summit but were unsuccessful. The first confirmed ascent was made by a Kyrgyz team led by Aleksandr Gubayev on October 12, 2001.
