The US military court in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where K. S. Mohammed is imprisoned, a press representative stated that the trial will begin on June 5, 2028.
Before his arrest in Pakistan in March 2003, K. S. Mohammed, also known as “KSM,” was considered one of the most important aides to al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
He was held for three years in secret CIA prisons, and in 2006 he was transferred to the US naval base in Guantanamo Bay.
His trial has been postponed multiple times, and a plea agreement that would have spared him the death penalty was withdrawn last year.
This man, who has an engineering education and claimed to have planned the September 11 attacks “from A to Z,” was linked to a series of major conspiracies against the US, where he had previously studied at university.

His operation with the highest number of casualties was the September 11 attacks, in which nearly 3,000 people died when hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, and another plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
K. S. Mohammed also claims to have been involved in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six people, and personally beheaded US journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002.
The US uses the remote naval base in Guantanamo to hold fighters captured during the war on terror after the September 11, 2001 attacks, preventing the accused from claiming rights under US law.
At its peak, the facility held about 800 prisoners, but they were gradually sent to other countries. Currently, only a small number of prisoners remain here.
