“Currently, electricity supply has been restored to almost 78 percent of Lithuanian residents and businesses. Approximately 62 thousand people in different regions still do not have electricity,” Rasa Juodkienė told LRT radio.

According to her, electricity supply is expected to be restored to all residents by the end of the week.
“There may be isolated disruptions remaining in very remote homesteads where there is a difficult situation,” said the ESO representative.

As BNS wrote, during the storm that raged over the weekend, one person died, four more were injured, and electricity supply was disrupted for more than 268 thousand consumers. ESO promises to compensate residents for losses if the restoration of electricity supply takes longer than 72 hours for them.
Due to the storm and significant losses to farmers, the government declared a state-level emergency on Wednesday.
