Fallen electrical wires on the ground can be deadly dangerous, even if they seem to no longer pose a threat, rescuers warn.
The video features a menacing crackling sound reflecting the danger of the situation: the energy of high-voltage cables is enormous and deadly dangerous even at a distance, for example, through a wet ground surface.
The incident site is surrounded by STOP tape, but as emphasized in the video, danger can arise unexpectedly and always remains very real.
Vital advice:
- Do not touch fallen wires, do not approach them, and do not allow others to do so;
- If you notice danger – keep a safe distance;
- Report to the responsible services or call the general emergency number 112.
“We all must be safe! Let’s be vigilant and protect ourselves and each other,” urges the Molėtai Fire and Rescue Service on social media.
