About 16 years ago, Libby Rome, now 52, and her husband sold most of their possessions to live nomadically and travel the world. All their belongings fit into one backpack. Three years ago, the couple decided to move to live on cruise ships.
“We are both fascinated by this lifestyle, where you hardly have to worry about anything, no need to do housework or manage affairs, and instead you can just enjoy life,” Rome told People magazine.
“I have two pairs of pants that I alternate”
The woman says she very rarely needs to buy anything.
“I have two pairs of pants that I alternate. When one pair needs washing, I wear the other. That’s all I need. I don’t need more,” she said.
They spend about $66 a day on cruise ships, or roughly 57 euros.

Life on a ship is not for everyone
Rome can only recommend this lifestyle, but with one condition: first, you should make sure that life on a ship really suits you.
“My advice would be to go on one or two cruises, maybe even a longer one with many days at sea, to make sure of it,” Rome said.

According to her, many people worry about seasickness and other things. At first, she herself felt unwell several times due to the rocking, but later learned how to avoid it.
