The Women’s Wrestling Poland Open tournament will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary.
“For many years, we held the tournament a few weeks before the world championships. Teams formed their national squads before the main event of the year. At one point, the tournament moved to July in the calendar, and the competition lost its significance.

Now we are returning the event to the old proven period. In addition, we took into account the teams’ comments regarding logistics and halls, which really were not spacious enough for a competition of this scale,” said Karol Lebkowski, president of the Polish Wrestling Federation, about the ambitions to make the competition in Warsaw elite.
The fact that the plans are being realized is evidenced by the team applications with famous names. For five days in Warsaw, world-class athletes will compete on the mats. It is already clear that this year a large group of elite Greco-Roman wrestling representatives will compete in the Polish capital.
In Warsaw, spectators will have the opportunity to watch battles of Olympic champions and medalists from London, Tokyo, and Paris, including the 2024 Paris Olympic champion Iranian Saeid Esmaeili (67 kg), 2020 Tokyo Olympic champion and world champion Japanese Mayu Shidochi Mukaida (53 kg), 2012 London Olympic silver medalist Estonian Heiki Nabi (120 kg), 2024 Paris Olympic bronze medalist Armenian Malkhas Amoyan (77 kg), 2024 Paris Olympic silver medalist Iranian Alireza Mohmadipian (87 kg), 2024 Paris Olympic bronze medalist Kyrgyz Uzuras Dzhuzupbekov (97 kg), and 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympic silver medalist Ukrainian Parviz Nasibov (67 kg).
Among the freestyle wrestlers, attention will be drawn to the 2024 Paris Olympic silver medalist Georgian Givi Matcharashvili (97 kg).
In the women’s wrestling tournament, mastery will be shown by the 2020 Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist and 2024 Paris Olympic silver medalist Kyrgyz Meerim Zhumanazarova (68 kg) and the 2024 Paris Olympic bronze medalist Norwegian Grace Bullen (62 kg).

Our country will be represented by seven Greco-Roman wrestlers, three female wrestlers, and two freestyle wrestlers.
In the Władysław Pytlasinski Memorial tournament (Greco-Roman wrestling), Justas Petravičius (63 kg), Rokas Čepauskas and Paulius Galkinas (both 77 kg), Mindaugas Venckaitis (97 kg), and heavyweights Romas Fridrikas and Mantas Knystautas (both 130 kg) will compete.
In the Poland Open women’s wrestling tournament, Gabija Dilytė (50 kg), Anna Tieliegina (59 kg), and Kamilė Gaučaitė (76 kg) will compete.
Freestyle wrestlers Paulius Leščauskas (86 kg) and Domantas Pauliuščenko (92 kg) will test their strength at the Wacław Ziółkowski Memorial.
The athletes will be accompanied by coaches Andrius Stočkus, Valdas Grišius, and Mindaugas Ežerskis at the tournament.

The competition will be refereed by international category referee Tomas Gricius.
