German prosecutors stated last month that the explosions were ordered by the Ukrainian state; it is claimed that such an accusation could sour relations between Kyiv and Berlin – one of its main military supporters.
V. Zelensky has always denied his country’s involvement.
“Ukraine has never officially participated in any operation related to the Nord Stream explosion,” he told journalists on Sunday when asked about the prosecutors’ investigation.
V. Zelensky added that Germany “knows very well that Ukraine did not organize or carry out this operation.”
According to him, Kyiv is helping Berlin with the investigation and hopes it will not cause a crisis in relations.

“It is very important for us not to lose the partnership, not to lose the trust of those European countries that have been helping Ukraine since the beginning of this war,” said V. Zelensky.
A Ukrainian suspected of involvement in these explosions was detained in Croatia on Wednesday.
It is reported that he participated in the making of a film about the mentioned attack in Croatia.
German prosecutors say this person cooperated with another Ukrainian who was detained in Italy last year and later extradited to Germany.
