According to the mayor, the storm spared Palanga and did not cause much damage, but the strong wind did knock down trees in this seaside town.
“After the storm – Palanga is cleaning up. The city’s municipal workers are busy – streets are being swept, parks and public spaces are being tidied, bike paths are being cleaned, broken branches are being collected, and fallen trees are being removed.
The area is large, so it will take some time to get everything perfectly in order.
Preliminarily, the strong wind knocked down about 10 trees in the city, although more fallen trees may still be found while tidying the areas.

In some places, power lines were cut off due to falling trees or branches. ESO was already working yesterday to fix the faults,” says the mayor of Palanga.
“And the beaches? Well, after such a storm, they look roughly as one would expect – nature has ‘reorganized’ itself in its own way.
But most importantly – to sum up, it can be said that the storm really spared Palanga and did not cause bigger problems,” the mayor talks about the situation in the city.
