According to R. Vaikšnoras, information about owned real estate can contribute to a person’s vulnerability, but he personally does not feel threatened.
“Personally, I do not (I am not worried – BNS). I am an open person, my properties were already described by everyone last year, there is nothing to hide, but I mean the most vulnerable people. (…) where the greatest danger really is, is if important persons who make decisions, perhaps intelligence officers’ data, were leaked. The investigation is ongoing, I do not want to speculate, I think we need to improve our resilience and especially the ability so that no one can hack in,” said the military commander.
BNS wrote that the General Prosecutor’s Office is investigating possible illegal logins and the appropriation of more than 600 thousand real estate register entries, including people’s personal codes.

According to law enforcement, the logins were made through “hacked” Migration Department employees’ accounts from abroad.
The first illegal logins and data leaks date back to the beginning of this year, and the Register Center became aware of it in April.
