As 15min confirmed with the Fire Protection and Rescue Department, one of the most tragic storm-related incidents was recorded in the Anykščiai district, Mažionys village, Troškūnai eldership, where a tree toppled by strong wind fell on a man and pinned him down. The accident ended tragically – the arriving medics confirmed the man’s death.
Another dangerous incident occurred in Kaunas. Here, a falling tree injured a woman. Medics who arrived at the scene took the injured woman to the hospital. More information about her condition has not yet been provided.
Reports of broken branches and fallen trees are coming from various parts of the country, so residents are advised to avoid parks, forested areas, and other places where gusts of wind may topple trees or break their branches.

Another dangerous incident during the storm was recorded in the Šilutė district, near Šiliai.
As 15min sources reported, a BMW driver stopped on the road when the roadway was blocked by a fallen birch tree. The man got out of the car and tried to move the tree, but at that moment a strong gust of wind uprooted a spruce growing nearby.

The tree, uprooted with all its roots, fell on the stopped BMW. There was a passenger in the car at the time – a child, who was injured in the incident.
According to preliminary data, the driver was out of the car at the time and was trying to remove the first fallen tree from the road.
During the storm, more fallen trees and broken branches are being recorded in the Šilutė district, so traffic conditions remain difficult and dangerous in some places.
