The Fire Protection and Rescue Department (PAGD) indicates that between 6:00 and 16:30, reports informing about trees or power lines fallen on the roadway were received.

So far, firefighters and rescuers have not received information about people injured due to the effects of strong wind.
Rasa Juodkienė, a representative of the “Energy Distribution Operator” (ESO), told BNS that the number of residents experiencing electricity supply problems reaches 110 thousand.
“It is still growing,” she assured.
According to PAGD data, the highest call volume in the morning was recorded in Southern Lithuania, later moving to the central part of the country, and in the afternoon most reports come from Western Lithuania.
Preliminary data shows that the most calls were received in the Klaipėda, Kaunas, Druskininkai, and Varėna regions, and the fewest in Šiauliai County.
Firefighters are most often called to remove trees and broken branches fallen on the roadway. There are also many reports about trees fallen on power lines.
In turn, the state road manager “Road Maintenance” reported that water accumulations, fallen trees, and other obstacles are recorded in various parts of the country.
As reported by the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, based on preliminary data from 13:00–14:00, the strongest wind gusts were recorded at Ventė Cape and Nida by the sea. Here, a hurricane-strength wind gust reaching up to 33 meters per second was recorded.
Strong wind was also recorded in other coastal region locations. In many other parts of the country, wind gusts reach up to 15–20 meters per second.
It is forecasted that in Southern Lithuania the wind will start to calm in the evening, and in Northern Lithuania – during the coming night.
Also, a torrential rain was recorded at the Šilutė meteorological station. According to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, since morning 83% of the August monthly precipitation norm has fallen there.
The torrential rain threshold was also reached in Šiauliai.
At about 9 a.m., warnings about heavy rain and very dangerous and strong wind were sent to residents’ mobile phones.
It is forecasted that on Sunday night the wind will calm down in most districts, with only local wind gusts of 15–20 meters per second expected.
