“From 2018 to 2025, the market contracted by more than 7.5 million hectoliters, which is equivalent to the annual production of three average breweries,” the Beer Industry Employers’ Union stated in a press release.

These figures reflect the “difficult situation” faced by the Polish beer industry, said the union’s CEO Bartlomiej Morzycki (Bartolomejus Možyckis). He also pointed to the growing popularity of wellness trends “NoLo” (non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beverages) and “Better for You.” He added that these changes are increasingly shaping the habits of Polish consumers.
“Economic factors are also important,” added B. Morzycki. “Beer is a very price-sensitive product, and its retail price has increased by more than 40% in recent years.”

The union also noted that in the first half of this year, sales of non-alcoholic beer grew by 16.2%, with a 30.1% jump recorded in June alone compared to the same period last year.
