After the evaluation of applications, funding was allocated to 19 creators: 14 individual scholarships and 5 beginner creator scholarships.

Among the authors awarded scholarships are the well-known photographer Tadas Kazakevičius, book illustrator Lina Itagaki, interdisciplinary artist Akvilė Anglickaitė, painter Andrius Zakarauskas, and others. The authors will receive a one-time scholarship ranging from 4 to 2 thousand euros.
“I am glad that this year we started implementing a scholarship program for culture and art creators, which purposefully complements the diversity of competitive programs with its content. The great interest and abundance of original ideas once again confirm that this is necessary and that Vilnius is rich in people who are starting to create or are already creating. I believe that the city scholarships for creators will provide even more opportunities to focus on creativity and implement ideas that enrich the city’s culture,” says Vilnius Deputy Mayor Simona Bieliūnė.
According to the Deputy Mayor, the first scholarship competition exceeded our expectations and is a very clear signal that Vilnius creators needed such city support.
After administrative verification, 301 scholarship applications were submitted to culture and art experts for evaluation. 232 applications were submitted for individual scholarships, and 69 for beginner creator scholarships. Among beginner creators, most applications were submitted by representatives of visual arts, interdisciplinary art, and performing arts.

Individual scholarships of 500 euros per month will be awarded for a period of up to 8 months, and beginner creator scholarships of the same amount – for up to 6 months. Scholarships can be used not only for the creation itself but also for its implementation: equipment rental, publishing, technical solutions, travel, promotion, filming, photography, digitization, and other creative activity expenses.
Scholarships are intended for culture and art creators working in the fields of visual and applied arts, music, performing arts, cinema, literature, interdisciplinary art, memory institutions, and ethnic culture.
Adult culture and art creators living and working in Vilnius were eligible to apply for scholarships. The beginner creator scholarship was intended for artists starting their careers – those who have obtained higher education within the last five years or have been professionally engaged in creative activity in a specific field of culture or art for no longer than five years.
Applications were evaluated based on their cultural and artistic value, relevance to the city of Vilnius, previous creative activity results, the justification of the idea, as well as aspects of financial planning, activity promotion, and accessibility enhancement.
