When burying a dear person Giedrius Savickas was stunned by a woman's action: "When they lowered the coffin into the grave…"

Asked why he does not use Facebook, G. Savickas replied that he simply does not have the desire to constantly create content and share his life.

“I have nothing to put there,” the actor smiled.

He admitted that he would quickly get tired of social networks because, in his opinion, you would have to constantly take photos there. G. Savickas himself said he had taken only a few selfies in his life, and one of them even became the reason to completely give up Facebook.

“I would get tired, you have to put, take photos there. I have probably taken two selfies (self-portraits, – lit.) in my life. I saw them and never took any more. I remember the first one, just after creating Facebook, I took a selfie with a scarf like Petruškevičius. I thought how nice I looked. And no one liked it. Screw that, I left that Facebook and that was it,” he said on the podcast “Ant laužo”.

The actor also finds it hard to understand the habit of showing every meal or trip on social networks. G. Savickas joked that his life is quite different from what people see on social networks.

“I don’t live the kind of life that others live on Facebook. Everyone there lives a very good life – everyone is on vacation and eating shrimp. Always. Sorry, but I don’t know why food needs to be photographed. We all eat – not just you alone. When someone eats something and takes a photo: ‘Look, I am going to eat food, look, I am going to drink a drink.’ I also eat, we all do that three or four times every day,” G. Savickas said.

It turns out that this attitude is also reflected in his personal life. Even when traveling with his wife, the actor is not inclined to capture every moment. He recalled recently visiting Thailand with his wife but brought back only a few photos from the trip.

“I say, I myself don’t really have anything to put. My wife and I were in Thailand, so we took two photos and that’s it: a passport photo, in case we lost it, and just took a photo in a beautiful place, we said – we’ll frame it. When you have one, you frame that one because it turned out best and that’s all,” the actor said.

However, when talking about photos, G. Savickas recalled a much darker, absurdly comical situation. He told about the funeral of a close person in Palanga, during which he saw something that still surprises him.

“Yes, I have wedding photos, I understand those, but when your ‘wedding’ is every day… It was a very funny situation in Palanga, at the funeral of a very dear person of mine there were two women. Since the other, Nijolė, could not come, those two friends, when they lowered the coffin into the grave, they were filming like this,” G. Savickas said, demonstrating how the behavior of the filming women looked at that time – pointing the phone to the ground.

“We’ll show Nijolė, because she asked what kind of funeral it was. And also that sound of the soil…” Giedrius mocked life on social networks.
