From January to July, 8.3 million tons of cargo were handled in the port in containers – 11% more, 804 thousand standard-sized containers (TEU) – 1.3% more, 560 thousand full containers – 8% more.

The flow of ro-ro or ferry-transported cargo reached 3.9 million tons and was 4% higher. The flow of freight trucks in the port grew by 2% – 207 thousand were transported.
Cargo in containers and ro-ro cargo make up almost 53% of the total cargo handled in the Klaipėda port, the port emphasized.
Handling of oil products reached almost 2.5 million tons and was 9% higher, natural gas – almost 1.8 million – 39% higher.
After a period of slowdown, a positive result is again recorded in the grain handling summary – 1.63 million tons were handled, or 8% more.

Since the beginning of the year, almost 3 thousand ships have arrived at the Klaipėda port – about 6% less, nearly 47 thousand tourists arrived by cruise ships – 6% more.
Meanwhile, 9.1 million tons of cargo were handled in the Riga port over seven months – 2% less. The biggest drop – more than 300 thousand tons (11%) – was in timber handling, container cargo decreased by more than 200 thousand tons (7%).
Ventspils port cargo handling fell by 21% to 3.9 million tons, with the sharpest decrease – 229 thousand tons (10%) – in the oil products segment.
Cargo handling in the Liepāja port dropped 13% to 3.4 million tons of cargo. In the agricultural products segment, handling decreased by a quarter, or 386 thousand tons.
