On Monday at “Gijos Clinics,” Jonas Valančiūnas, Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu, Sterling Brown, Dustin Sleva, Saben Lee, and Carsen Edwards, who arrived straight from the airport, gathered. The remaining basketball players had their tests done earlier.

After the tests, the Žalgiris players shared their thoughts about their physical conditions before the upcoming season and their impressions of the first days in Kaunas on “Žalgiris TV.”
“Before every season, you need to do this – check what is missing and what is still needed. From that, you build the entire preparation for the season and the work during it. Speaking about the summer, I managed to both rest and spend time actively in nature and the city. There was a bit of everything, the summer was fulfilled, and now we are getting down to work,” said Jonas Valančiūnas after the tests.
Sterling Brown, in turn, shared his impressions of the first day in Lithuania, and Saben Lee talked about his first workout, which he had at the “Žalgiris” arena as soon as he arrived in Kaunas.
“I really liked everything in the arena and the training hall. I wanted to relax a bit after the flight, warm up my wrist. The arena really made a good impression – I can’t wait to see it full of fans,” added S. Lee.

Meanwhile, the “Žalgiris” team doctor Vytautas Kailius commented on the basketball players’ testing.
“It is important to check if the players lack minerals, how their overall blood test looks, liver enzymes, and so on. These are specific things we monitor during the season to know what changes, what might need to be given more or less,” emphasized V. Kailius.
