The leadership position of “Lidl Lietuva” was maintained both in the first and second quarters of the year. In the first quarter, the average employee salary was 2557.34 euros, and in the second quarter – 2762.04 euros.
The average salary is calculated based on the salary data of employees who worked in the company for the entire calendar month.
“The financial security of team members has always been one of our top priorities, so we devote a lot of attention to it. We have maintained leadership in employee salaries for several years, which shows that our efforts are yielding results. We not only offer the highest salary in the sector but also apply a stepwise salary increase system that allows store and logistics center employees to know in advance how their pay will change in the future,” says Antanas Bubnelis, Head of Corporate Affairs in the Baltics at “Lidl”.
Among the largest taxpayers in Lithuania
In addition to competitive employee salaries, “Lidl Lietuva” significantly contributes to the state budget. In the first half of this year, the company paid 80.6 million euros in taxes and other contributions and ranked 9th among the largest taxpayers in Lithuania.
Compared to the same period last year, the amount of taxes and contributions paid by “Lidl Lietuva” increased by 7.6%.
“We are one of the largest retail chains in Lithuania, offering our customers high-quality products at low prices every day while ensuring good conditions for our employees. As the business grows successfully, the amount of taxes we pay also increases, so it is gratifying that through our activities we can significantly contribute to the Lithuanian economy,” emphasizes A. Bubnelis.

Additional motivation measures
Taking care of employees’ financial well-being, the company provides opportunities to earn extra income and applies various incentive measures. Logistics center pickers can receive additional payments for achieved results. Bonuses are also awarded to mobile store team members who help colleagues in other stores when needed.
Regardless of the position held, every “Lidl” team member is encouraged to develop professional competencies and pursue a career. For example, employees starting a career as sales assistants can become deputy store managers and later store managers. Employees without managerial experience are provided with comprehensive theoretical and practical training to help acquire the necessary competencies.
The retail chain cares not only about employees’ financial growth and career opportunities but also their physical and emotional well-being. All employees, after the probation period, are insured with private health insurance, which provides the opportunity to consult with specialists from private and public healthcare institutions, purchase medicines and dietary supplements, and use other health services. They and their children up to 14 years old are also given the opportunity to get a free flu vaccination.
The company also runs a special program “You can rely on us!”, which provides all “Lidl” employees and their family members with anonymous consultations with specialists on psychological, legal, or financial issues.
