At the European swimming championship, Rūta Meilutytė and Tomas Navikonis won prize places. The Kaunas native who won gold took first place in the 50 m breaststroke event.
For this victory, R. Meilutytė will receive a bonus of 22,750 euros.
Meanwhile, Panevėžys native T. Navikonis won silver in the 200 m freestyle swimming event. His bonus amounts to 11,322 euros.

In the athletics championship, discus thrower Mykolas Alekna also won silver. He will receive the same bonus as T. Navikonis.
At the European and world championships, bonuses are awarded only for 1st–3rd places. At the Olympic Games, they are paid for 1st–8th places.
