The strikes “were a response to a gross violation of the agreement by Hezbollah when they attacked our forces in the agreed security zone,” wrote Israeli army spokesperson in Arabic, Lieutenant Colonel Ella Waweya.

Lebanon reported that nine people, including three children, were killed in Israeli strikes in the south of the country on Saturday. These were the deadliest attacks since agreements reached in June eased hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.

Israel “intensified attacks in the south” early Saturday, reported the Lebanese state National News Agency (NNA), stating that warplanes struck a house on the outskirts of Ansar village and carried out “a series of airstrikes targeting Ali al Taher ridge,” a strategic hill overlooking the Nabatieh area.
