The coaching staff was supplemented by two new assistants – Matas Juzeliūnas, who successfully worked as an assistant coach at Kėdainiai’s “Nevėžis-Loans Club” for the past four seasons and served as head coach of the team since April, and Mindaugas Brazys, who has accumulated extensive experience
and previously successfully assisted Nedas Pacevičius. For M. Brazys, this is also a return to the capital’s team – the strategist has already worked at “Rytas” when he assisted the then team strategist D. Adomaitis. Later, M. Brazys gained coaching experience at Klaipėda’s “Neptūnas”. The main assistant to the head coach will continue to be the basketball specialist from Finland – Vesa Vertio, who is successfully continuing his stage in Vilnius.

There will also be changes in the field of physical training. From now on, the physical condition of the basketball players will be taken care of not by one, but by two specialists. Joining the team’s veteran Tadas Jackūnas is Martynas Liuima, who worked with the Kėdainiai team last season.
The head coach of Vilnius “Rytas”, Nedas Pacevičius, spoke in detail about the formed coaching team and the importance of each staff member:
“When choosing the coaching staff, both competence and human qualities were undoubtedly taken into account. Working together with Vesa at the club last season, we quickly found a common language; the coach is respected in the club by both players and people around the team, so there was not the slightest doubt to continue working together,” said head coach N. Pacevičius about the coaching staff. “Matas, who will join the coaching staff, is one of the fastest developing young coaches in Lithuania.

He has many years of experience as an assistant coach and also has experience as a head coach. His profile was exactly what we were looking for to complete the coaching team. Mindaugas’ abilities are well known to me; I know what he can give the team here and now, so this is also a great addition to having a clearer and more structured process throughout the season. And Tadas is one of the longest-serving people in the club, whose loyalty and competence raise no questions. We are glad that he remains at “Rytas” for another season.
Also, a change in the coaching staff will be that from now on we will have not one but two physical preparation coaches – Martynas Liuima joins us, who will help both Tadas and all players ensure an even higher quality training process.”
The fully formed “Rytas” staff has already begun preparations for the upcoming season battles, aiming to ensure maximum professionalism at every stage of training and tactical preparation.
The coaches and the team will start their preparation for the season on August 24-25.
