The company received the permit to operate in the Klaipėda FEZ on July 14 – this is stated in the company’s application to the Register Center. This document requests to register “Klaipėdos duona” as a free economic zone company.
It gives the business the opportunity to receive certain tax benefits.
For example, a zone company that has invested at least 1 million euros does not pay corporate income tax for ten years, and for the next 6 years, it is subject to a 50% reduced rate of this tax – this is provided for in the Law on the Fundamentals of Free Economic Zones.
Meanwhile, “Klaipėdos duona” plans to build a new factory in the FEZ, into which about 36 million euros are planned to be invested. Last year, the company received a 28 million euro loan for this purpose from the national development bank “Ilte,” which finances business projects with public funds.
In information submitted to environmental authorities in August, it is stated that the confectionery and bakery factory should be built on a 2-hectare plot at 41 Pramonės Street.
“Klaipėdos duona” plans to build a factory in the Klaipėda FEZ, where automated confectionery and bakery production, packaging, and freezing equipment will be installed,” the information states, based on which it will be decided whether an environmental impact assessment of such activity is needed.

According to this information, the factory occupying about 10 thousand square meters could produce about 4.3 thousand tons of confectionery, 12.2 thousand tons of other baked goods, and 7.1 thousand tons of bread per year.
Currently, “Klaipėdos duona” operates in premises on Šilutės Avenue, and its controlled “Javinė” is on Minijos Street. The company did not respond to the news portal VE.lt’s question whether both of these factories would be moved to the new building in the FEZ.
The controlling stake of “Klaipėdos duona” belongs to the Klaipėda-based financial services company “Kuren food,” which is controlled through other companies by three individuals, including one of the richest people in Lithuania, Darius Vyšniauskas. According to the annual ranking compiled by the magazine “Top 500,” his net worth in 2025 was 80 million euros.
Currently, over 180 people work at “Klaipėdos duona,” the consolidated company’s revenue last year was 17.9 million euros, and net profit was 1.2 million euros.
